About

I'm a software engineer and the founder of Bitheap, based in Zürich, Switzerland. I grew up in Romania, studied at SNSPA in Bucharest, and started out as a technical writer at a company building software for financial institutions. Since then I've worked across software development, security and QA automation for some of the world's largest financial institutions, and today I spend most of my energy building and shipping AI products.

I describe myself as a tech polymath: I move fluidly between languages, frameworks and disciplines, with a genuine appetite for learning whatever a problem needs. Lately that has meant systematic trading research, options analytics and LLM-assisted workflows, which is what my open-source GPT Trading Agent and GreekFlow projects are about.

Alongside building, I teach and write. My courses have helped over 100k students on Udemy and Pluralsight, I publish on Medium and YouTube, and I've written four books. Away from the keyboard: running, chess and the outdoors.

Projects

A selection of products and open-source work. The same projects appear as monuments inside the 3D world, so explore to find them.

Mini projects

Small interactive one-pagers I build to understand something properly. Each one is a single static page, no backend, no build step, running entirely in your browser.

Live dashboard

Is the AI hype cooling down?

A composite 0 to 100 index that answers whether AI infrastructure buildout is still accelerating, scored from five weighted signals: hyperscaler capex, neocloud spend, queued data-center power, new power capacity and regional load. Toggle between snapshot and trend views, then drill into the supply-chain bottlenecks running through 2030.

  • Hyperscaler capex

ChipTycoon

How a computer chip is made, told as a theme park ride. A cart carries one silicon wafer through 20 stops, from crystal growth and photolithography to etching, ion implantation and packaging, and the wafer visibly changes at every stage. Ride the full loop in about eight minutes, or click any stop to jump straight to it.

  • 20 fab stages
  • Canvas rendering
  • Zero dependencies

TokenTown

A transformer rendered as an isometric city. Type a prompt and follow the convoy, the hidden state, as it moves district by district through tokenization, embeddings, positional encoding, multi-head attention, the feed-forward block and sampling. The maths is real and runs live in the browser on a small model, with temperature and top-p on sliders.

Interactive manual

EUV Lithography

An EUV scanner explained as an old-fashioned production and operation manual, with two trainers built into it. In the factory trainer you lay conveyor belts and place the coater, optics bay and stage shop, then run the line until a complete machine ships. In the light path trainer you steer 13.5 nm light off mirrors, from the tin plasma source through the reticle to the wafer, losing intensity at every bounce.

EngineWorks

How a Formula 1 power unit is built, watched as a factory line. A carrier moves through 15 stations, from raw stock and casting to heat treatment, machining, coating, turbo and hybrid assembly, clean room build, dyno testing and delivery. Swept volume, combustion events, thermal efficiency and combined power with the 350 kW MGU-K are computed live from the 2026 regulations, and the V6 fires in order at about a five-hundredth of real speed.

  • 15 stations
  • Pan and zoom camera
  • 1.6 L V6 hybrid

Rocket Engine Works

A methalox staged-combustion engine built across 14 stations, from raw stock and machining to assembly, hot fire and launch. Type a serial number for a unique build. The numbers are solved live rather than looked up: exit Mach from the area ratio, then exhaust velocity, characteristic velocity, thrust and specific impulse, with the ascent integrated from thrust, propellant burn-off and gravity falling away with altitude.

  • 14 stations
  • 300 bar chamber
  • Nozzle solved live

Writing

I write about AI, systematic trading, security and the reality of shipping small products. Some of it lands on other people's platforms, most of it on Medium.
